Teifi-Dog

Teifi came to me at 9 weeks from my friends’ farm. He was very easy to house train. When he made a puddle indoors, I saiid, ‘No’ and he sat down and looked at me as if thinking, I see, we don’t do that’ and never made another one. All his life he wanted only to be good, a proper little angel of a dog. I’m afraid he is a hard act to follow for Dyfi.

Teifi-Dog

He considered it his duty to acompany me in any work I did outside. He found ducks boring and was content to let Frosty-Dog [see her page] deal with them but the sheep were his and his alone. In those days I had no feed sheds, only one for the ducks to go in at night. So I had one bin for sheep food and one for duck food.  If I removed the lid of the duck bin, he stood quietly just being calmly on duty, but as soon as I touched the sheep food bin, he would hop about in sheer delight at the prospect of visiting them. He never chased them, just stood by supervising.

I shall not write much about Teifi here as he has done that for himself. See ‘And Thereby hangs a Tail’ on the book page.
