All intensive courses run from Monday to Saturday inclusive, leaving Sunday for arrival and departure. Each course consists of 24 hours tuition over six days. Written work [optional] is set to be completed outside of these hours and is then corrected. Cassettes and players are available also for practice, and there are French films [with subtitles!] for viewing in the evenings if desired.
The house is situated in the midst of fields [with sheep] and near a delightful river. I recommend that students take some time off to walk there and let their brains unwind. Bodyfuddau has a resident flock of ducks which are very useful for this.
INDIVIDUAL COURSES
Individual courses can be arranged at any time [subject to other bookings] and at any level. Participants may request a particular line of study to suit their own interests and purpose. It would help if students who have done some French would let me know at time of booking approximately what they have done and where they feel they most need help. It would also be useful to know which books they have studied, in order to avoid duplicating material. I am happy to discuss details over the phone beforehand.
Beginners
The aim of these courses is to provide basic conversational material, pronunciation, plus an understanding of the essential grammatical concepts in order to allow for further progress in the language. Numbers in group courses are limited to 4 people to ensure plenty of student talking time and individual attention.

GROUP COURSES
Conversational group courses are no longer arranged for set dates but are available if two wish to come together. See below.
However, intermediate level students with a basic idea of the grammatical concepts, such as students from an evening class, may arrange to come together if they feel that they are at the same level. It is important that participants in a group should be at approximately the same level in order that each person obtains maximum benefit. Emphasis for such a group would be on developing conversational skills and comprehension. Only one group [maximum 3 people] can be accepted at any one time.
Beginners groups are also possible on the same premise, i.e. that couples or friends arrange to come together. In either of the above situations a reduced fee applies.
